We attended the show this past Saturday and while the work is impressive when looking at images, in person it is quite stunning. You must go to see this in person.
These paper dolls are individually drawn by hand using pens and reflect sexual abuse and how it is either ignored or “accepted” within families and society. The Doll House’s cutouts are “blown-up” to become foamboard cutouts or hanging curtains making the gallery its own Doll House.
Judy spent time explaining not only her past, but how it related to the work. Stunning work and very emotionally moving.
